“Brick Fields” (as they are commonly called) are both places where the bricks production takes place and locations where building materials are stored and sold to the construction companies. Due to the concentration of local and foreign investments Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, has been witnessing massive migration and a huge urbanization. As a direct consequence of the urbanization process, Dhaka's building industry has quickly grown to satisfy city needs. Tens of thousands of piece workers are employed in the business. Entire families work and live in inhuman and unsafe conditions to earn few dollars per day.
